TIPS FOR OPERATING THE ROLLER RACER®
KIDDIE RIDE
Like any other ride presentation, the environment
and ambience of the Roller Racer® has a tremendous effect on
its success. A first-class presentation gives one of the highest
rates of return on an investment of any kiddie ride available today!
Here are some ideas to create your Roller Racer® riding
arena.
1. Choose an attendant who is enthusiastic
and able to demonstrate how to ride the scooter. We recommend an
average ride time of 3-5 minutes.
2. When space permits, consider creating a
combination area for your riders. One side is an open area
for bumper-car type operation and the other side is a maze
where riders can test their maneuvering abilities. If you use a
track layout, make it wide enough for 2 scooters to ride side by
side (about 5-6 feet) so faster riders can easily pass when needed.
3. Signage, props and paint will enhance your riding
area. Consider a cityscape or racetrack theme with traffic
lights, stop signs, railroad crossings, tunnels, and bridges.
4. Your patrons will enjoy observing the action so
be sure to create perimeter fencing that allows easy viewing
for parents and younger children, such as wrought iron, split rails
or speed rails with netting.
5. We recommend a level riding surface,
although slight grades are acceptable.
6. The Roller Racer® works equally well on
concrete, asphalt, wood or tile. Any surface upon which you
can roller skate is appropriate for the ride. An extra smooth
concrete with a fine finish is our favorite choice, especially after
applying a sealant and coat of urethane.
7. Many parents want to ride with their children. We
encourage you to allow them to do so. Your attendant should see that
parents and children ride seated with their feet on the
handlebars, never in a kneeling position.
8. There is no regular maintenance required for the
Roller Racer®. We do, however, recommend that you keep your
scooters out of wet weather to protect your wheels and post bearings |
